Sustainable & Fair Trade Procurement Policy
Objective: The hotel is committed to promoting a sustainable supply chain by prioritizing the selection of suppliers, manufacturers, products, and service providers that operate with good governance, safety, respect for labor rights, and shared responsibility toward the environment and local communities.
Supplier and Service Provider Selection Criteria:
Low Food Miles & Local Sourcing Criteria
Food Miles: Top priority is given to sourcing food ingredients and fresh produce from local farmers, artisanal fishing groups, and local community enterprises located within 50 kilometers of the hotel. This ensures fresh, seasonal ingredients while reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
Local Income Distribution: Aim to directly procure at least 80% from producers and distributors within Chanthaburi Province to support the grassroots economy and strengthen surrounding communities.
Safety, Quality & Certification Criteria
Local Farmers and Producers: Select vegetables, fruits, and fresh food ingredients that are certified under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards, or sourced from local fishing groups using sustainable fishing gear that does not harm coastal and river ecosystems.
General Suppliers & Distributors: General suppliers of processed goods, consumer products, or service providers must comply with relevant legal safety standards and hold valid certifications, such as the Thai FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or fundamental manufacturing standards (e.g., GMP / GHPs), to guarantee maximum consumer safety.
Fair Trade & Ethical Labor Criteria
Fair Purchasing Price: Establish and agree upon a fair purchasing price (Fair Price) in collaboration with farmers and local communities, enabling partners to operate their businesses securely and sustainably.
Ethics and Human Rights: Select only suppliers who conduct business with honesty and integrity, strictly adhere to labor laws, pay fair wages, do not engage in forced or child labor, and maintain a safe working environment.
Wildlife Protection Policy
Policy Statement: USABAI Riverside Boutique Hotel holds a firm commitment against all forms of illegal hunting, capturing, torturing, and trading of wildlife. We are dedicated to causing no harm to the ecosystem and ensuring the welfare of all animals.
